In March 2022, the School of Humanities and Communication will partner with the Alumni team to launch the USQ Virtual Alumni Book Club. The program will feature four books across 2022 and will begin with Car Crash: A Memoir by Lech Blaine.

In his book, Lech recounts the tragic car crash which took place in 2009 in Toowoomba that took the lives of several of his friends. Lech will participate in the book club discussion on Thursday 28 April from 7-8pm Brisbane time.

The other three books that will be featured this year are:

  • Melissa Ashley’s The Birdman’s Wife for May/June
  • USQ Alumnus David Burton’s mystery novel The Man In The Water for July/August
  • USQ Alumnus Kylie Chan’s science fiction novel The Scales of Empire for September/October.

All authors will be participating in the discussions of their books.

Alumni, staff, students and community members are invited to take part in the Book Club. To register your interest in participating please email alumni@unisq.edu.au.

All conversations for the book club will take place at Alumni Community, https://community.unisq.edu.au and it is free to join.
